Lucky me!

How lucky am I to have a visit from my sister the weekend before my birthday? Extremely. I love when our family visits.  L-O-V-E it. And even though the time is shorter than I want it to be and time flies much too quickly, I wouldn't trade it for the world.  Shortly after Stephanie landed she came with me to pick Henry up from school.  Oliver was already home nursing a rather big bump on his head from earlier in the day. Henry was so happy to see her, it melted my heart.

Of course, she got into it right away with the boys- coloring super hero books that she kindly brought with her.

And then some dress up time...what doesn't everyone have a beer in their play clothes bin??

Beautiful girl!

We went out on Saturday night to see the musical Once.  I've never seen the movie but have heard some of the music from it, specifically the Falling Slowly song. This performance was incredible. It was intimate, raw, heart warming, gutting...all of it. The music was beyond magic. It pained us to see it end. Such a good night with one of my favorite people in the world. Thank you!

On Sunday night Mark made me feel pretty special by having a cake prepared, a Happy Birthday sign and some gifts. Really, all weekend I felt really spoiled!!!

It unfortunately was the last night before Stephanie had to leave, so she read the bed time books to the boys and wait.... for.... it.......

The face! Her ultimate "what on earth are you talking about, no way, get out, come on" face. Stephanie, I loved having you here. The boys (all of them) loved having you here too. Thank you for making a special trip, we missed you very much. A shout out to Craig for holding the fort down back in Wakefield :)  We are all looking forward to coming home in December!

And then on the actual night of my birthday, Mark took me to see THIS GUY!!!! He was great! He played his new stuff along with all of our Hootie favorites. Thanks Mark for and amazing night and for hanging with the kids while I was off with Stephanie on Saturday night. By hanging with the kids I mean suffering through a 5 year old birthday party with various creepy animals. :) Love you.

Hootie rocks!
