No excuses for the lateness so I will just get on with it.
Oliver and Henry turned 5 on March 7th! With it came their first BIG birthday party.
What does that mean?
1) 30 children
2) Rental of Hurley village hall for said children
3) Professional entertainment (children entertainment people, they are only 5!)
4) Pizza and cake for the masses
This year they picked the superhero theme. Shocked?
The days leading up to their birthday was chaotic but I had many moments to reflect on our journey to 5. It made me proud and sad all at the same time. I feel like we came to the end of an era. I remember holding them as infants thinking they will NEVER be 5- it seemed like light years away.
Now here we are. The boys enjoyed their party, enjoyed having their friends present and enjoyed turning 5. Mark and I survived with the help of very good friends. Without them no one would have had a proper cup of tea (bad form). Thank you Emma and Ray.
These life size balloons are called air walkers. They are huge and it took 4 weeks for them to deflate. Anyone debating buying these- please note- 4 WEEKS.
The boys take drama classes and we hired their teacher Lucy to do some fun and games. She is amazing. She held these kids attention for almost 2 hours and they listened to everything she said. For dinner, she had them all quietly line up and tip-toe into the other room for pizza and cake. I can't even do that with two, never mind 30.
This was the tip toeing part...
And Mark was able to talk me into a rum and coke.
Oliver and Henry, you bring us joy every day. You stretch our minds, hearts and patience with ease and you remind us what it is to be young. We are so proud of you and we love watching you grow together and separately. If you could slow down the next 5 years, I promise to continue to rebuild your Lego sets every 10 minutes, forever.
Love all of these. Love their faces. Can't believe they are 5!
