Three and a half Comeaus

We are very excited to announce the arrival of the Comeaus to the Fairfield House last week.  My sister Rainelle, her husband Doug and lovely Charlotte all descended to the UK on Wednesday, January 22nd.  The half to be accounted for is my niece-to-be due in June! Everyone made it safe and sound.   There was some question as to whether Doug would be able to join us due to a passport snafu (something we can laugh about now but not at the time) - but thankfully it all worked out.

You may or may not know, we are a family that takes many pictures…so I will warn you now.  This post is full of pictures that I love.  We had over 300 combined and it was hard to choose the best- because they were all awesome.   We had such a good time and the time when by so fast.  The boys miss their cousins very much and talk about them all the time.  I’m so grateful that our family is able to visit us here because without family…where would we be? Let’s begin, shall we?

Hi Charlotte- welcome to England!! Poor baby.  Passed out cold.  Her Dad is to the right of her.  See feet to the left.

I love little Charlotte.  We did a duet to Roar I believe.  She is so cute I want to eat her up.  Looks like we could have been doing a duet to Islands In The Stream.

It took Charlotte no time at all to understand that most people are in costume around here.

We had a little dance party that night.  Song of the week is "Best Song Ever" compliments of One Direction.  And Rainelle to introducing it to us.

Roar Dad, roar!!

Breakfast is always a happy time.  Oliver is half naked because his "stomach was hot".
Okay.

Later that day, we took them to Higginson Park. Loved it!

Circle of Death not so scary with Uncle Doug controlling it.

There is nothing better than unsolicited hand holding.  Love, just plain love.

Thursday night Rainelle and I went into London to see Les Misérables! I loved it so much when I went for my birthday and I'm trying to share the love.  It was another amazing performance and it was super special to see it with my sister.

Getting ready to go on the double decker bus tour.  We are learning more and more that Oliver is going to be the "class clown" when it comes to picture taking.  He is pretending to be asleep on purpose.  Oh boy.  BUT look a the other two.  And the cap Henry...to die for.

Although you can't see their full faces, you can see the side of Charlottes.  Her cheeks are up and her eyes are squinty- looking at her older cousin Oliver.  Again...love.

Tourists and resident tourists we are.  We did the Big Bus Tour in London.  Hop on and off all day. It was great.  We got to see everything we hadn't seen yet and then some.

Blue steel baby. Blue steel.

I've got the eye of the tiger, a fighter, dancing through the fire, cuz I am a champion and your going to hear me ROAR!

Do you hear me??

Scott and Krista Goryl- this one is for you.  Trafalgar Square.  Full on Grrrrrrrrrr!

As I mentioned before, the class clown and his cute cousin.

Don't know much about the big blue rooster in Trafalgar Square.  Must find out and get back to you later.

Yes, a proper pub stop. Had to be done.

Not sure why Rainelle was so much closer to the guard than me.  I think I was afraid.  I'm a little intimidated by someone holding sword.

Need I say anything more about this picture?

Thumbs up Charlotte- you made it!

Buckingham Palace.  At this point in the day, everyone was feeling a little bit tired. But we persevered.

It was bound to happen.  Charlotte decided to take a snooze for an hour. Good girl.

Back at home they wasted no time.  Animal parade anyone?

Next day, Windsor Castle.  Much different vibe than downtown London.

Everyone please put your earphones on and pay attention!!

We lucked out and had some really mild weather while they were here. Not one drop of rain during the day.  It waited until the evening.

I have to mention that this guard is unique.  Notice he is smiling.  He is not supposed to smile or talk to the visitors. But he did.  Good on you Royal Guard.  (not sure if that is the correct thing to say but I thought it was nice that you spoke to my sister and brother-in-law).

When we returned from Windsor Castle the men made a plan for a very elaborate pub crawl in London.  Doug and Mark visited 7 pubs in London.  I have pictures that document that it actually happened but I won't post all.  It's best you don't.  Below is the Black Friars Pub.

Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese.  It is the oldest pub in London and Charles Dickens used to drink here.

My husband trying a new profession as a rickshaw operator.

The last day was spent in Hambleden Village.  We had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Stag and Huntsman.

Of course we had to finish off with some silly pictures!

What else can I say? We all had such an amazing time and we love you.  Rainelle and Doug, thank you for taking the time to visit us in England.  Charlotte- you grow cuter by the minute and you are such a little lady.  I love that we will have these memories forever.
Cheers mates!

  4. Great post! Looks like the kids were troopers. So many awesome photos, but I think my favorite is the three of them holding hands (with Mark on the rickshaw as a close second, of course). Castles, costumes, and beer. Seems to be an accurate summary for your visit, yes? Glad you guys had a good time. :)
